Teflon sealing material expands when heated by engine temperature, providing an optimum fit and seal. The Teflon gasket at the tip of the injector must be replaced after the injector has been removed. According to the manufacturer‘s instructions, reuse is not permitted. The material also expands when applied to the tip of the injection nozzle and must be compressed accordingly.
